Fall 2010

The band decide that they want to keep the tempo of the bands in the 60´s , that means a record a year. They enter the famous Atlantis studio in Stockholm together with the equally famous house technician
Janne Hansson and the recordings of the second album can begin.  With some help from sometimes stand in´s Nino Keller(Drums) and Thomas Hallonsten(Keaboards) and with some good vibes from Sweden´s Quincy Jones, the legendary Anders Burman, the band finds the environment to make a step creatively. Also at Atlantis, a new important component in the Tonbruket universe joins the process: the mighty illustrator and painting artist Jesper Waldesten are sitting in like a fly on the wall and draw the members in action and later becomes the cover artist for both ” Dig it to the end” and ” Nubium swim trip” and an essential creative force that complements  the bands music.

Fall 2013

The band celebrates the albumrelease with a special night at Södra teatern together with Anna Högberg,Per ”Texas” Johansson,Elin Larsson and Magnus Holmström on key-harp( also appears on the album)

Then  follows a mighty 2 month long European tour with Ane Brun, both acting support band and back up orchestra, together with Nina Kinert and Ola Hultgren.

In the end of the tour Andreas Werliin announces to the band that he has to take a year of or so from Tonbruket under 2014 due to his other projects he is involved in. Particulary Fire Orchestra and Mariam the Believer/Wildbirds and Peacedrums.Neither was he satisfied with the recording process under ”Nubium Swimtrip”. It was a sad ending of the tour and leaved a lot of  unanswered questions….

In the beginning of 2014 Tonbruket recieves their third Swedish grammy award in the category ”Jazz”. Next day begins a new Tonbruket tour in Sweden. Now with the drummer Ola Hultgren  as stand in for Andreas on most of the tour.

During 2013 Dan Berglund is also involved in a new band with  Bugge Wesseltoft
and a live project called ”EST symphony” which included Dan and drummer from EST  Magnus Öström with guest artists and a symphony orchestra.
Johan Lindström started to work on his first arrangements for  Symphic Orchestra with artists such as Ebbot Lundberg and  Moneybrother. Recording two albums as a musician/producer with swedish artist called Edda Magnason and the band Graveyard.
Martin Hederos
was occupied as well with producing the artist Sarah Riedel, writing scores for ballets and movies with his longtime collabration partner Peter Von Poehl and started up duo project with Nina Persson. He also did some piano tracks for the motion picture ”Gentlemen”
Was this the end of Tonbruket?

After the summer Andreas and Johan talked it through. And Johan decided to change his methods in the aspects of composing and recording with a ”band”. -You have to leave a lot of holes for your friends to fill upp in a ”song”. Otherwise there´s not gonna be a co-work situation. Tonbruket has a unique combination between ”Composed music”, ”Jam Music” and so called ”Non/ Music”.

In the fall 2014 Johan,Martin Dan found themself working together again with director Nadja Weiss for the play based on Aki Kaurismäki´s ”The Man Without a Memory”.
This new ”comission”,writing tango´s and Polka´s  for a play came as a very upplifting situation for the three of them. Most of the inspiration came from the Salvsation Army music archives,”Music from a Bygone Age” series such as Ion Petre Stoican and Dona Dumitru Siminica and of coarse the sweet soundtrack of ”The Grand Budapest Hotel”.

”Mannen utan Minne” Tonbruket med Marie Rickardsson.

At the same time in the other side of Stockholm Andreas Werliin and his band Fire did the music
for another play/performance callled ”The Flying Child”.
